How to engage kids during a lockdown?

Well, this is a very important and difficult question because most of the parents are facing difficulties in managing their work from home and giving time to their children.

Due to COVID 19, schools have closed all over the country and kids are forced to stay at home and it is very difficult for kids to stay indoors for a longer time. Hence, it is a parent's responsibility to keep children engaged in activities that are fun as well as new learning. So for all you parents thinking about how you can keep your kids busy at home, here are 5 best ways to engage your kids during the lockdown.

  1. Cooking classes

With a lot of spare time, it is the perfect opportunity for you to take your kids in the kitchen and have fun with them. During this activity, you can explain about different vegetables, their advantages, vitamins, as well as you can teach simple dishes that they can make for themselves. In this way, you can engage your kid & maybe your child will turn on to be a MasterChef. :-)

 2.   Arts and crafts

This is very easy but the most productive thing which you can do with your kid. Take out those craft books and paintbrushes and let your kid discover their true passion. By involving your child in this activity you will not only help them to pass the time easily but also bring out their creativity in unique ways.

 3.   Coding / Logic building

Currently, many companies are coming up with a unique solution to teach robotics, stem education, coding, logic building a lot more online. Kids can be bored by doing the cooking, arts, and craft activity but this particular activity can engage your kid for 1-2 months. There is lots of open-source software available for all age students like Scratch, Tinkercad.

(Scratch: Scratch is a free programming language and online software where you can create your own interactive stories, games, and animations.

In our childhood, our grandparents used to tell us stories but now due to a busy schedule we don't spend quality time with our kids. So this is a perfect time where you can motivate your kid to read new books or can tell them small stories every day. Nowadays you can see lots of old serials like Ramayan, Mahabharat, etc coming on tv channels you can tell more about it.
